Clearly, Eagles legend Jason Kelce is an over-sharer.
An undersized center who punched well above his weight, Kelce was known for his vocal leadership, and he was a team captain in Philadelphia for six years. He was also a strong on-field communicator who called audibles at the line of scrimmage and ushered teammates into the proper protections and run schemes. His passionate speeches galvanized his teammates.
But this speech, he could have kept to himself.
The dialogue occurred during a segment of the “New Heights Show” with Jason and his brother, Travis, which featured Lions linebacker James Houston, who allegedly soiled himself based on photos captured of his backside during a game.
“This is one of the reasons I hate white pants,” Jason told Travis. “I would like to say that I have not ever done this, and luckily I haven’t been out there during a game and did this before, but sometimes you are exerting a lot of effort on the field and if you get caught in the wrong type of gut situation … We all know what that is, and he has nothing to be ashamed of. I’m here to have your back, James. I have done this. Dude, I did this before a game once. You know like when you shart and you know that there’s a possibility something just came out but you’re not certain?
“… (Eagles offensive tackle) Lane (Johnson) comes up to me after warm-ups. He’s like, ‘Hey, you’ve got (expletive) all up and down your pants right now.’”
Jason Kelce is a seven-time Pro Bowler and six-time All-Pro who helped lead the Eagles to their 41-33 Super BowI win over the New England Patriots in 2017.
Kelce delivered one of the more passionate, memorable world championship speeches, wearing the iconic Mummers uniform along the parade route.
Now, alongside Travis, Jason dominates the podcast world with his gift of gab.
